Cool Concoction

This blog entry is for my mom, who wanted me to share a cocktail recipe with her. :D My favorite non-alcoholic cocktail! It's called the Gold Medalist and is best for this season. I use to make it all the time when I was pregnant and didn't have much of an appetite for anything else. You can experiment with the ingredients as you wish, but here's the combination I liked the most.

Ingredients

Yogurt - 1/2 cup
Milk - 1/2 cup
Strawberries - 6-7
Banana - 1
Ice cubes - 3-4

1. Put everything in a blender (or the magic bullet, as I like to do it).
2. Blend away! Don't forget to leave one strawberry for decoration.
2. Pour into your favorite glass and decorate with the strawberry you left out earlier.
3. Enjoy!

Jeju - Part 4, Glass Castle

We went to the Glass Castle. We really wanted to try glass blowing but it was too expensive...

The main building. There was a video of people glass blowing near the entrance, we just stood there watching it like watching camp fire. lol. It was so cool!

Glass garden on the way in

Glass orchestra

Glass bean sprouts

Glass pumpkin patch

Glass heart! :D

Oh, I forgot to mention that Alden learned how to use the straw. :D It's so convenient when we go to restaurants or want to give him juice or anything. We don't have to worry about using his sippy cup and washing it out. :D

Jeju - Part 3, Hallim Park

On our second day, we went to the Hallim park. It was a huge park with several different sections. They had a big garden, bonsai tree garden, three different caves, a traditional village, lotus ponds, and trees shaped into animals and others. Wow! We had so much fun there. :D

Getting ready to explore the park.

* I posted this post using Google Docs, and I still need more practice... lol. Sorry if you can't see the pictures well. (They're copied from facebook)

Jeju - Part 2, Teddy bear museum

On the first day, after having fun at the beach, we went to dinner and then to the Teddy Bear Museum. :D There were so many bears! We saw a lot of historical figures (they were bears), including the Beatles, Michael Jordan, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, etc. Alden had a lot of fun looking at all the bears, but everything was too expensive at the giftshop that Al didn't get to keep a suvenier. :(

String quartet on the Titanic

WWII

Tera cotta warriers!

Our favorite hero, Superman!

Shoot for the hoops!
What kind of beagitable should we get? (There were bears looking like carrots, broccoli, etc.)
On the beach! (at night..)

Giant bear-

Sorry updates have been so slow.... I should mention some of the new tricks Alden has learned. He can now almost walk (we have a video of him walking along a couch using just one hand and another video of him walking, using a chair as a walker). He can also say, mama and dada, in Korean and English, although he keeps calling me Umma (mom in Korean) and Joe Mama. Ha ha ha. He can say rice (in Korean), more, book, and he recently learned how to say Mung mung (bark, bark -the dog sound- in Korean). He also learned how to share, and he would share his snacks or binky. But he hasn't really learned how to let go when he shares. lol. I'll keep posting more.

Jeju - First adventure at the beach

We flew straight to Seoul after our Jeju trip, so we had to send a lot of our stuff to Seoul. The delivery company wouldn't take luggage so I had to wrap them with boxes. (10 minutes before we had to go to catch the airport shuttle). We barely made it to the bus.

We met up with Mom, Cody, and Kyra at the Jeju airport. We rented a car to drive around the island, and it was actually really nice. The car came with GPS and a stroller for Alden.
I only drove for the first day... lol. (Joe: And YY didn't bother taking pictures of me driving so it looks like she did all the driving.)
On our way to the Jeongmun beach. It's supposed to be the best beach in Korea. The sand was really nice and the water was really warm. We parked at the wrong place (the GPS really was going to take us straight to the beach, off a cliff, like in the Office when Michael was led into the lake) and had to hike down to the beach. (We had to move the car later)I got bit by mosquitoes on this short hike, and those bites tortured me for the rest of the trip.
Posing at the beach. :D

Making a sand castle. We actually made a sand snowman, but a dang Korean kid stepped on it and destroyed it.

Getting splashed by the waves.
Alden missed out on the whole beach experience... We bought Spiderman swimming shorts, swimming diapers, and a floaty for Alden that never really got used.
Well, he did wake up right as we were leaving, so grandma wanted to give him a little taste of the beach. He didn't appreciate it that much. lol.

My cute boys. :D

More pictures and stories to come later-
