Wedding Expo and more

Joe and I had a lot of fun at the wedding expo. On Friday, there weren't a lot of people, and we were so worried that it'd be that boring on Saturday as well. On Saturday, however, it was a lot busier, and we had a lot of fun. There were so many people that were very impressed by our collection. :D Hopefully they'll order with us... Ha ha...

Saturday was the longest I've been away from Alden. I was gone from 9:30 am till 6:30 pm. I missed him a lot, and had to look at my phone often to look at a picture of him. :D I'm sure he missed me too!

We had to be there an hour early. This is a picture of Joe being caught on camera in the middle of playing Mario Kart. lol.

Alden has grown so much, and he is such a big boy now! Well, he doesn't act that way, but he sure does look very old. lol. In the following picture, he is wearing 9 month clothes. :)
And in this picture, too!

I can't wait till he can sit up by himself. Right now, if I want to let him play by himself, he has to lie down on the floor, and I don't think he has a lot of fun that way. (Plus, his head gets flat.) For these pictures, he had to be propped up by pillows and blankets. I'm looking for an activity center, exersauser, or an jumperoo for him right now so he can play by himself while I do the dishes or something.

This is a video of Alden trying to sing or give a speech or whatever he is doing.... lol.

Busy week

This week, Joe and I are going to our first wedding show at the Thanksgiving Point for our wedding invitation business. We are excited to go, and we are busy trying to get ready for the big weekend. There are many things to do that we didn't account for before this week, so we're cramming really hard, but hopefully everything will be ready by Friday. We are hoping that we could get some orders this weekend.... I am still trying to get over my cold, which I think is almost over. I'm just having a few coughs here and there, and the headaches and the sore throat are gone. Alden has scared me with coughing a little in the morning, but I don't think his cold will get as bad as mine. Joe seemed like he was doing much better, but he complained of really bad sore throat today, again... Hopefully he doesn't fall back into the cold. He's going to taking 18 credits this semester and really needs his health.

This summer, Joe orginally wanted to do an internship with LEK, which is a consulting firm located in California. We heard that due to the economic recession, they got rid of their internship program altogether. So we'll most likely be going to Korea this summer for Joe's internship. We're hoping that he'll be able to get an internship with Hyundai. In Korea, they require a picture with the resume, so below is the picture we sent them. (Notice the absence of smile. lol.)

Last Saturday, we had a little party with some friends and family. We made homemade pizza, sang karaoke, and watched a movie. A friend of ours found a song called "I like sexy girls" sung by JOE. lol. We thought it was funny, I had to take a picture of it.

Alden has finally found his thumb! Instead of sucking on his index finger, he now sucks on his thumb. lol. And drools himself to the point of getting the top of his shirt completely wet. lol.

He wore this overalls the other day, It's so cute! The picture doesn't show it very well, but I thought Al looked a lot like my brother, who's holding him. lol.

This is a video of Alden trying to locate his thumb to suck on. lol.

Amazing Talent

Joe has this amazing talent to be able to fall asleep anywhere and anytime whenever he closes his eyes for more than a few minutes even when he NOT tired. I always have such a hard time falling asleep, and it's especially hard when I only have 3 hours available at a time for sleep between feedings and I spend half an hour to an hour trying to fall asleep. I think Alden's kind of taken after his father except in a slightely different way. When he's about to fall asleep and is fighting the sleep by trying to keep his eyes open, we use a trick to help him fall asleep. If we stroke between his eyebrows, he closes his eyes and falls asleep. The following video was taken a couple months ago but grandpa said he couldn't watch it on his computer so I am putting it up here.

This video is a bonus music video. The song is in Korean but it's about a tadpole who grows its hind legs, then front lefts, and becomes a jumping frog. :D

Cold, cold, and cold

So.... Joe and I are both sick with the cold. Very nasty sore throat and coughs keep us up at night, especially Alden. since we both keep coughing through the night. In hopes of getting better, we took a refuge at my parents house last weekend. We got there on Friday around 4 pm and didn't come back home until Sunday at 8 pm. Well, Alden got to have his own queen size bed, and that was nice...

And it was also very nice to have my parents take care of the baby while we slept, and slept, and slept... (or watch TV)

My dad was in town for a couple of weeks, and he had some great time with his grandson. Alden really got to know my dad, and I think he started to recognize him because he kept smiling whenever he saw my dad.

Oh, yeah, and Alden has progressed to sucking on his "index" finger, instead of his whole fist. I guess he figured out that he has fingers....

And we are trying to teach him that he has his feet. lol.

We are hoping to recover quickly before school starts in full swing. Hopefully we'll be well before the end of this week....

New Years Eve

For New Years Eve, we went with my family to my dad's friend's house in Roosevelt. The Powells have been our family friends for a long, long time.

Getting ready to go...

Alden did really well again during the car ride. It was 2.5 hour drive, and he lasted the whole trip without any complaints. He's such a nice baby!

The guest bedroom we stayed in was a little cold, so I had to eventually bring Alden up to our bed because he got really cold. So everytime Joe coughed or Alden flinched, I woke up...... Who would've known, this would be the start of my cold...

But Little Al's such a trooper. He still hasn't gotten sick even tho mommy and daddy have been sick twice.

My dad made casting for the Powell's kids to make custom orthodics for them.
Yearim, Dohyup, and Joe all brought their Nintendo DS's, and we ended up getting the Powell's kids addicted to the ds. lol.

At midnight, we watched TV for the countdown, had a toast with sparkling cider, and all went to bed... :)

Happy Anniversary!

Our wedding cake was two layered. Top was Coldstone icecream cake, and the bottom was Costco cheesecake. Well, they didn't last long and were gone by the time we got back from our honeymoon. So we didn't have the one piece to eat on the anniversary, and we didn't even think to get a cake. My sister, Yeagi, in Holland, called up Coldstone in Bountiful, and bought was an anniversary cake! It was so nice of her to do that, and we enjoyed the cake quite a bit.

For dinner, since both of us weren't feeling well, we decided to do take-out from Chili's.
We LOVE their baby backribs... yum...

Christmas

Our first Christmas as a family was great. After a relaxing break in Vegas, we headed up to Bountiful. The only down side was that Joe was sick the whole time! Food poisoning in Vegas, and then a cold after that! We ended up just spending the Christmas, boxingday, and our anniversary indoors.

Look what we got in our stockings! I'm horrible with American holiday traditions, and I forgot to fill up the stockings with goodies... So we put Alden inside a stocking, and that was better than anything else we could've put in one!
On our way up to Bountiful, we saw Rudolf the reindeer on I-15. :)

Proud grandfather. Alden is twice the size of Sophie!

Daddy's burping Alden.

We spent a night at Grandma's on boxing day. It was so nice to spend time with them.

Grandma made a hat for Alden. It fits perfectly! He looks like an elf with a belly. lol.

Falling asleep in Daddy's arms. He's soooo cute!
Grandma put Alden to sleep in the rocking chair. He's so cuddly. Grandma asked grandpa, "Is he asleep?" Grandpa took a look at Alden and answered, "I don't know. I can't tell."

Watching TV with Big Al.

All in all, Joe's still sick, and I started getting sick, too, but it was very nice to be able to spend time with our family.
